"Our key personnel have solid practical grounding in network design and integration services having
worked extensively in the wireless industry for the past 25 years throughout the UK and Europe
"

Raymond King

Ray has worked within the radio communications industry for the past 20 years having started his career as a radio technician in the Royal Corps of Signals. He gained field engineering experience with Orange & Hutchison Whampoa working on network rollout of GSM /PCS networks before taking up network planning roles for Ionica in Cambridge, Mobistar (GSM operator) in Brussels and then as part of a service offering from ntl:Broadcast to Vodafone in Newbury.

Ray developed the RF test & measurement capability of Spectrum Telecom Services to enable clear, concise network information to be relayed back to the wireless network operators. This later broadened to other applications across multiple technologies including 2G & 3G cellular networks, PMR and Wireless LAN systems.

Ray has also undertaken the role of Radio Production Manager at Terminal 5 having moved across from design in late 2006. He was responsible for the management of the installation and commissioning programme to ensure that the PMR & Cellular systems were delivered to programme, within budget & to design specification.

David Connolly

David has worked within the telecommunications industry for the past 20 years. He started his career working for Lucas Bradley Electronics working on the Repair & Calibration of Test & Measurement Equipment. His next role was within GEC Picker International as an RF Technician before moving into the telecommunications market with Mercury Communications. From 1993 he worked as a Radio Planning Engineer for various mobile operators including Orange, T-Mobile and Mobistar (Belgium), AT&T Ireland (for Mannesmann Mobilfunk in Germany).

After forming STS-Wireless David worked for ntl:Broadcast developing their new in-building products and was instrumental in creating the first multi-operator shared infrastructure at the Bluewater shopping centre.

Since 2004 David has worked on the design of Cellular and PMR systems at Terminal 5. David was the first to utilise the CAD based RF planning tool (Wireless Valley) to model the in-building coverage at T5 and was instrumental in its configuration to enable design of the PMR, Cellular and also the WLAN systems within Terminal 5. He has worked closely with Neil Mackinlay on the design, installation and commissioning of the PMR and Cellular infrastructure and provided ongoing design support to the PMR & Cellular production teams through to handover.

Neil Mackinlay

Neil has worked within the Private Mobile and Cellular market for the last 25 years. He started his career with Philips Mobile Radio, working on various design and development projects. In 1996 he joined ntl:Broadcast (now Arqiva) where he designed various complex systems for Emergency Services and in later years for the UK Cellular Operators. Neil left ntl:Broadcast in 2003 to work exclusively on Terminal 5 with Spectrum Telecom Services.

Neil is currently the Lead Radio and Cellular Designer at Terminal 5 and has worked on the design, procurement and installation / commissioning of both the PMR and Cellular shared infrastructures deployed at T5 for BAA.

Neil has a trusted relationship with all five UK Cellular Operators along with the Third Party users of the PMR infrastructure such as HMR&C, AirRadio / BA, SITA, NATS, HEX, London Fire and BAA. Neil has also worked closely with all major suppliers of wireless equipment to Terminal 5 including AFL (now Axell Wireless) and was the lead for the specification of equipment and factory acceptance testing on behalf of BAA.
